A family in Kitengela, Kajiado county is demanding justice after their son was allegedly killed on his way home from a party on Christmas day (December 25).
21-year-old Emmanuel Kasuu is said to have never returned after the party, only for his family to find his body at the Kitengela Sub County Hospital Mortuary on Thursday morning.
According to his father Peter Muthusi, the deceased left the party at 6 am the next day (December 26) for home, never to get home.
The family is now questioning police reports that their son was killed by a mob after a botched robbery, insisting that he was a disciplined boy who has never involved in crime.
‘’I have been living with my son here and never associated him with crime. He is very obedient,’ the father told the Standard reporters on Sunday.
He added that the police report doesn't match the condition of the boy's body, which he says only suffered broken legs and has no other visible injuries.
The grieving father suspected foul play in the death of his son and is demanding justice.
“We suspect foul play. There’s no way that our son was beaten by a mob. How come he only suffered broken legs and had no injuries in other parts of the body?" he posed.
A detective who spoke to the paper said that the deceased was part of a four-member gang that was confronted by the public while trying to rob a home, and the rest escaped leaving him behind.
The paper has also established that the boy might have been beaten to death.
