Nairobi County Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has sent a warning to hospitals over negligence to patients.
In a tweet on Monday morning, the flamboyant city boss was reacting to a message he had been sent by a person at Mbagathi Hospital, who was decrying lack of doctors and hospital workers to attend to them.
"This the Kind of NONSENSE I don't like and if I take action you will hear them going to the media claiming that I like chasing people from work. I have planned for them this round. (This the Kind of NONSENSE I don't like and if I take action utasikia tu wakikimbilia media ati napenda kuvuta watu kazi. Nimewapangia raundi hii)," he warned.
According to the message and pictures sent to Sonko, one of the patients who was waiting for the doctors lost her life.
Previously, Sonko had been storming hospitals across the city to expose various kinds of mistreatment, negligence by doctors or even corruption cases across hospitals.
He vowed to fight for the rights of patients to save lives. Currently, he had reduced his visits and seems like doctors, nurses and hospital workers have gone back to the old habits.
