Wajir Women Representative Fatuma Gedi has laughed off a petition by an activist seeking her removal from office on the grounds of integrity.
Gedi says that she is not worried about the petition terming it malicious and politically motivated.
The vocal Wajir lawmaker says that her integrity is not questionable and that his rivals are using every means to get her out of office.
“I am not disturbed about what they are planning because I know my integrity and I can defend it,” Gedi told journalists in Wajir Town on Monday.
Gedi said that her political rivals are spending nights plotting on her downfall.
“I will not be intimidated by anyone because the leadership mandate was given to me by Wajir people,” she added.
A Wajir-based political activist Abdullahi Bayo has threatened to petition Gedi’s removal.
The activist claims that Gedi does not have the integrity to continue serving as Wajir Women Rep.
Gedi’s name has been hitting headlines recently.
Last month, an unverified sex video allegedly involving her went viral on social media.
The MP distanced herself from the sex video accusing some Wajir County officials of allegedly sponsoring the creation of the fake video.
Gedi claimed that the video was created to taint her for standing against corruption at the Wajir County government.
Detectives are said to be hunting down individuals in Wajir who allegedly funded the creation of the obscene video.
