The tribunal appointed to investigate the conduct of Supreme Court Judge Jackton Ojwang’ has kicked off its sittings.
The team has lined up 22 witnesses to testify in the probe into the conduct of the judge.
Ojwang’ landed in trouble over his close relationship with the Migori county government and its governor Okoth Obado.
The team visited his home in Migori to collect more information on his relationship with the county boss.
Ojwang' was suspended by President Uhuru Kenyatta, following a recommendation from Chief Justice David Maraga.
The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) had ordered the judge to appear before it to explain the association he has with Obado, but he opted to send his representative Nani Mungai to represent him.
The decision did not augur well with the commission forcing it to ask the President to form a tribunal to probe the judge.
Court of Appeal judge Alnashir Visram was appointed to head the tribunal.
Other members of the tribunal are retired appellate judge Festus Azangalala, Mr Andrew Bahati Mwamuye, Ms Sylvia Wanjiku Muchiri, Ms Amina Abdalla, lawyer Ambrose Weda, and Senior Counsel Lucy Kambuni.
