Sarah Pkyach, the Miss Tourism Kenya 2018 on Tuesday received a heroic welcome at her home county, West Pokot.

The colourful grand event was attended by West Pokot county residents, leaders and different invited dignitaries. 

Present were Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, host governor Prof. John Lonyangapuo, the county first ladies Lydia Khaemba and Priscilla Oparanya from Trans Nzoia and Kakamega counties respectively. 

Pkyach, who beat 40 other contestants to win the much-coveted crown will represent the country in the Miss Tourism International which will take place in Malaysia in December. 

She also signed a Sh1.2 million contract and will represent and market Kenya on several international trips including travelling with President Uhuru Kenyatta on the same plane. 

The beauty queen is a third-year student at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).
