Migori Governor Okoth Obado has for the first time narrated his experience with the slain student Sharon Otieno and their love affairs.
In a statement to the detectives, reports the Standard, Obado admits that the two were lovers and that they had met in November 2017.
And in April during Devolution Conference in Kakamega, his love affair with Sharon would be unearthed by his wife, Hellen Obado.
In Kisumu, county officials had booked a room for the governor and his staff at Acacia hotel, only for Sharon to came with another alternative.
While Obado was preparing for Acacia, Sharon booked Imperial Hotel where she asked the governor to join her for a night.
As the manager informed Obado of the development, the governor would become even more confused when his wife called warning him against visiting the hotel.
In the call, Mrs. Obado explained that she was aware of the governo's plan to visit Sharon in the Imperial hotel.
However, it is not clear who tipped off the First Lady of the relationship between Sharon and her husband.
Finally, the governor called off the meeting having sensed danger and instead shifted it to Nairobi for a later date.
The First Lady had threatened to make their relationship public had the governor attempted to honour Sharon's invitation.
