The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (Kura) has congratulated the public for its assistance in reporting people destroying the road infrastructure.
In a tweet on Wednesday, KURA noted that three suspects were nabbed after a tip-off by the public.
''We thank the Public for providing information on Vandalism along our Roads, Three suspects were arrested over the weekend for stealing Guard Rails along Outer Ring Road and charged at Makadara Law Courts. Let's protect our Roads,'' said KURA.
The body has in recent times incurred huge loses after various major roads around Nairobi city were vandalised.
According to Kura Communications Director John Cheboi, road vandalism is executed by an organised syndicate.
The body mandated with developing, managing and rehabilitating urban roads has on various occasions asked Kenyans to help in making sure that road infrastructure is kept safe.
It even promised a cash reward (Sh100,000) to anyone who reports vandals.
Mostly, the street lights, street poles and the guard rails are targeted by vandals in Nairobi.
Roads mostly affected around Nairobi are Thika Super Highway, Outer Ring Road, Ngong Road and Lang’ata Road.
