In the company of local leaders and with minimal security, Ruto visited Monica Momanyi's homestead to launch last connectivity programme at a cost of Sh11 million.

But before launching the milestone project in the village situated in the interior of Kitutu Masaba constituency, Ruto sneaked to the 'kitchen' and prepared tea for the 'guests'.

With the host still in shock, the DP lit a stove and prepared tea which he went ahead to share with a few guests who accompanied him.

"He is a very humble person. I was in deep shock when he just picked a stove and lit it. I had some milk on the table and he took us through simple tea making process," recalled Monica.

She added in an interview: "He served two leaders who were around and apparently, he acted as if it was normal."

After the tea making business, Ruto would later part with Sh10,000 to the ageing lady and subsequently advised her to venture into business.

The extraordinary event is however not that unusual given that Ruto had been captured recently taking roasted maize by roadside.
