National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has differed with President Uhuru Kenyatta again in a span of two weeks.
In what can puzzle anyone trying to understand government operations, Duale, who is supposed to push government agenda in the August house, asked MPs to reject the nomination of Sarah Serem to Kenya’s ambassador in China.
Serem was nominated by President Uhuru Kenya, the leader of the government.
How his point man in the national assembly opposes the nomination makes one wonder whether the government is reading from the same script.
The Majority Leader told MPs that it was time to hit back at Serem as she had opposed MPs salaries and allowances when she was the Salaries and Remuneration Commission boss.
Recently, Duale also differed with Kenyatta on the nomination of Ben Chumo to head the salaries body.
Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria told off Duale over the move saying legislators will rubberstamp the nomination.
“She is a nominee of the President. We will approve her name. The Majority Leader is wrong on this one and I will mobilise other members of Parliament to pass the nomination,” Kuria said.
