Kenya is on the verge of joining the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI) termed as CMC-Global.
According to ICMCI executive director Reema Nasser, Kenya will be certified within the next two years.
A country has to walk a three-year journey to be certified. Kenya will be a full member of the council by 2021.
“Getting the Certified Management Consultant designation is the jewel in the crown for a consultant as it confirms that you have proved to the council and to clients that you are a competent consultant,” says Reema Nasser.
Membership will enable Kenyans to offer services to clients in other nations that are members of the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI). This might increase employment in consultant firms as areas of operation increase.
According to the Management Consultants Association of Kenya (MCAK) chairperson Eric Ngala, tthis is a great opportunity for them. MCAK is seeking authority to be the official certifying body.
Management Consultants Association of Kenya had vowed to offer reliable consultants as well as link the professionals to the right network if given the opportunity to do the certification.
“Management consulting bridges the gap from working to consulting and ensures those who transition have the right network and play to the code of conduct,” explained Ngala.
