Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho missed new year party organized by Mombasa County. The event was held at the New Kibarani Recreational Park but Mombasa County Director of Communications Richard Chacha has explained why the county boss missed the event.
"He [Governor Joho] was attending a leaders meeting that he was not able to finish in good time. He was represented by his deputy [William Kingi]. The meeting was held in Mombasa," Chacha explained to Kenyans in an exclusive interview.
However, Joho took to social media to thank Mombasa residents for attending the party. He also urged them to live peacefully and develop Mombasa.
"To you all a happy, prosperous and blessed New Year 2020. Asanteni sana for turning out in large numbers at the New Kibarani Recreational Park to usher in the new year. I urge each one of us to put our best foot forward in order to develop County 001 and the entire Country," Joho tweeted.
The governor was represented by his deputy Dr William Kingi. The event was also graced by Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir.
"It was a great honor to usher in the new year 2020 in style at the New Kibarani Recreational Park among multitudes of lovely citizens and friends. Happy new year," Kingi stated.
