Renowned human rights activist and socio-political commentator Boniface Mwangi has drummed up support for his party's candidate Edita Ochieng' in the Kibra by-election.
Speaking on Wednesday on Pointblank show hosted by Tony Gachoka and aired on KTN, the activist held out hope that the people of Kibra would vote for her.
He said the Ukweli party candidate had all the attributes of a leader who would deliver for the people of the constituency.
"I am the party leader of Ukweli party. We have a lady candidate in the Kibra by-election. Her name is Edita Ochieng'... She is the best candidate, " he said.
Analysts have written off the Ukweli party in the Kibra parliamentary race.
The parties seen to be in a strong position to clinch the seat are; the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, Musalia Mudavadi's Amani National Congress (ANC), and the governing Jubilee party that has fielded former Harambee Stars forward McDonald Mariga.
Kibra constituency is a turf of the ODM party and has been represented in Parliament for many years by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga when it was still part of the larger Lang'ata constituency.
Political pundits have framed the Kibra race as a battle between Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto ahead of the 2022 presidential election.
