A slew of international publications have  swiftly reacted to a tragedy at Precious Talent Academy that saw a building collapse on students, killing at least 7 and injuries scores more.

Leading that coverage was the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) which reported on the fatalities and injuries.

The BBC reported that the building collapsed minutes after the students had reported at the school.

It also reported the difficulty that rescuers had encountered while trying to access the school due to the huge crowds that gathered to witness the tragedy.

"Dozens of people were injured and have been taken to hospital in the city. Emergency services are at the scene.Rescuers have reportedly had difficulty getting to the school because of large crowds that have gathered nearby," the BBC reported.

The Washington Post, a top American publication also reported on the tragedy.

It reported the confusion that ensued after the tragedy with parents of the students crying.

"Parents wailed at the scene of The Precious Talent Top School in Nairobi. Hundreds of people gathered as emergency workers picked through debris. It was not clear whether anyone was trapped underneath. 

"Government spokesman Cyrus Oguna confirmed the deaths. Kenyatta National Hospital later said 64 children had been admitted and that two of them were in critical condition," the Washington Post reported.

Qatar-based outlet Aljazeera reported on its news portal that 7 students had been confirmed dead by the Kenya Red Cross.

An official of the Kenya Red Cross told Aljazeera that there were students in the upper classes when thebuilding came tumbling down.
