Kisumu politician and former Jubilee nominated Senator Joy Gwendo on Monday pleaded guilty to accusations of issuing bad cheques.
Gwendo appeared before Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti and pleaded guilty to said charges.
She accepted to settle the matter out of court, where she will make the payments amounting to Sh3 million on four installments.
Despite agreeing to pay back the money, the court set her sentencing date for December 7, 2018.
The former Senator's woes started in January when she was arrested by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) Detectives for abuse of office and issuing bad cheques.
Gwendo is also accused of falsifying a Sh200, 000 cheque from the Kenya Commercial Bank account in favour of Kivuli Development Initiative.
In addition, it is claimed that she issued two forged cheques of Sh300, 000 and Sh950, 000 respectively at the KICC in December 2016.
