The body of young man who died 2 months ago is still lying in the mortuary after his parents failed to raise the required 2.7 million bill.
Th parents of the deceased man, Mr. Bonface Mbugua and Mrs. Josephine Wambui of Ting'ang'a Ward in Kiambu County, are saying the employer of their son did not consult them on the matter of hospitalizing their son.
Michael NgigiI Mbugua died while working at a construction site at Pangani, when he slipped and fell down from the 4th floor of q building he was constructing, where he sustained severe injuries, including broken limbs.
The deceased was rushed to Aghakan Hospital by his employer, which the parents are saying was against their will. After spending five days at the hospital under Intensive Care Unit, they had to transfer him to a more affordable hospital, Komarock Modern Health Care.
After spending over 25 days at Komarack, under ICU, he passed on leaving behind a bill of Ksh 2.77 million unsettled.
His body was taken to Kenyatta University mortuary, where it is lying up to date, attracting a bill of Sh1000 in a single day.
The family has been organizing several fundraising, where they managed to pay half of the bill, and are now relying on well-wishers to raise the remaining balance of about Sh1.67 million.
The hospital regulations only allow the boy to be taken by relatives if and ONLY if, they settle at least 85% of the bill.
