The members of the Muslim Community have been lamenting over incessant harassment from the police in the recent past.

Speaking on Monday at Jamia Mosque in Nairobi, Matiangi said that the government will not sit back and watch police mistreating any Kenyans who is not guilty of committing any offense punishable under the law.

He said that the police officers misusing powers while fighting radicalisation and terror gangs will not be spared anymore.

“I want to pledge that I will now take up the issue with the Inspector General of police and colleagues at the administration to design a program to try find out about such cases and why our brothers and sisters feel the way they feel,” Matiangi said.

On his part, Majority leader Aden Duale, asked the CS to ensure that the Muslim also enjoy their freedom just like other Kenyans.

He said that it has become a habit for police to harass members of the community while linking them to crime all the time.

“The security agents must apply the law to protect everyone. There is no law for Muslims and other Kenyans. So they must all be treated equally,” he said, as quoted by Capital FM.
