Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho has yet again been dragged to another assassination claim, with Kandara MP Alice Wahome being the target.
Mrs Wahome, a staunch supporter of Deputy President William Ruto, on Monday claimed that the powerful PS has been trailing her and Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro.
On Sunday, Nyoro was forced to stay longer at Royal Media Services building after it emerged that police were looking for him over fiasco St a church in his constituency.
And Wahome claims that a meeting was held in Murang'a at a businessman's house where plot to kill her and Nyoro was discussed. She hasn't reported the matter to the police.
"I am aware of a meeting that took place some two weeks ago in Murang'a in a home of a businessman. There were several people including PS Interior Karanja Kibicho. The discussion was around how Nyoro and I could be finished.
"The reference was that H. E William Ruto has become strong politically in Murang'a. That he's having too many followers in Murang'a. They may have even discussed about other counties as well," she claimed.
The two are staunch supporters of Dr Ruto and are credited for the DP's raising support base in Mt Kenya region. They have been spearheading Tanga Tanga rallies.
In June, Karanja was also dragged to alleged assassination of DP William Ruto. Police have since established that the assassination letter was authored by associates in Ruto's office.
"You know I hear assassination claims, who has complained? I am yet to hear someone who has complained,” said Kibicho.
“I think it's better we stop creating things that don't exist the moment that we have a claim like that that is formalized and not in public barazas then it's dealt with in accordance with the law," added the Interior PS.
The fresh claims could further raise tensions within Jubilee Party even as President Uhuru Kenyatta struggles to stamp his authority and safeguard his legacy.
