Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga has pleaded with Embakasi South residents to vote for Irshad Sumra in the upcoming by-election.
On Tuesday, Odinga led campaigns for the Orange party candidate saying he is fit for the seat.
The former Prime Minsiter who was in the company of ODM politicians asked residents not to let him down on Friday.
He assured locals that they will not regret if they vote Sumra as their Member of Parliament.
"On Friday, let us be on the good side of history, the winning side," Odinga said.
He asked ODM supporters to rally each other, and ensure that every registered voter votes in the Friday by-election.
Odinga also urged residents to remain calm and peaceful before, during, and after the by-election.
The Embakasi South by-election has been taunted as a two-horse race between Sumra and Julius Mawathe of Wiper Party.
The seat was declared vacant after the Supreme Court nullified Mawathe's election on grounds that it was not free and fair.
Other candidates eyeing the seat are Rameshchandra Gorasia (Democratic Party of Kenya), Jefferson Kasingu (KANU), Alexander Mutisya (Maendeleo Chap Chap), Angelina Mwikali (Thirdway Alliance), and Jairus Mulei Musyoka (Independent candidate).
President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party (JP) did not field a candidate in the by-election.
