Kisii County Governor James Ongwae has asked rivals and critics to keep off projects being funded by the World Bank in Kisii municipality.
The county boss while speaking on Friday when he hosted a delegation from the World Bank led by Abdul Muwonge in his office said he will not give ears to critics who are opposed to World Bank-funded projects.
"I will have no time to listen to criticism being peddled around by critics who have no work to do. The projects World Bank has funded to boost infrastructure at Kisii municipality should not be politicised," he stated.
He said the projects World Bank has funded are meant to improve the livelihoods of the people of Kisii County adding that the projects are not meant to serve the interests of few critics.
The county boss assured the World Bank team that he will not allow misuse of funds donated to his government for development.
"As you monitor the progress of the projects you funded, I want to confirm to you that no shilling will be wasted whatsoever. Cartels should keep off," said Ongwae.
He assured that any county official found misusing public funds will carry his or her own cross.
Ongwae said some of the projects World Bank has funded in Kisii County are a modern fire station, walkways and making other roads within the county accessible.
