Dubbed Kieleweke, the team has been accusing Deputy President William Ruto from allegedly obstructing President Uhuru Kenyatta in delivering services.

But Dr Ruto has often accused the team of sabotage, insisting that he was elected jointly with President Uhuru Kenyatta to deliver across the country.

Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny says Kieleweke retreated due to ongoing census and to supervise development projects across their areas of jurisdictions.

“We are very strong. The issue of the ongoing census somehow took our time and also now that Parliament is on recess, we have taken time off to check on projects in our respective constituencies,” he said.

Dr Ruto is setting pace to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta but has often accused Kieleweke team of thriving on non issues with an aim of undermining him.

“There are MPs going round the Central region campaigning under the pretense of donating to churches. I feel for them because come 2022 they will not be getting any votes for going against our president,” said nominated MP Maina Kamanda.

Last week, Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, a close ally of DP William Ruto, claimed that Kamanda and Dr Fred Matiang'i were making his life hell.
