Gor Mahia head coach Steven Polack has said that his team was bang average after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Ulinzi in a Kenya Premier League (KPL) fixture on Saturday.
Polacks’s side dominated proceedings at Moi Stadium in Kisumu, but they were wasteful in front of goal.
"It was an average display from my team, we did not play as we usually do," Polack told Goal.
He also admitted his frustration over their failure to utilize the chances they created.
"Defensively we were better and did not allow [Ulinzi] to trouble our goalkeeper especially in the second half, but we also did not take the few chances we had. Yes, we did not lose the match, it is a point gained but I feel we did not play our usual game,” he added.
When asked about the absence of key player Kenneth Muguna, Polack said: "[Muguna] is a good player, but we did not have him for the game; maybe he could have helped us or not but he is a quality player."
K'Ogalo is still on top of the KPL table with 25 points, but Polack is well aware that Saturday's result provides Ulinzi with encouragement as they lie third seven points behind them.
