Barely an hour after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations dismissed claims that rapper King Kaka had been summoned to record a statement, the "Wajinga Nyinyi" hitmaker has come out claiming to give information on his alleged summoning.
In a post on his Facebook page, the self-styled poet claimed that he received a phone call from someone purporting to be DCI officer, and issued threats.
" @DCI-Kenya the number that called us claiming to be CID is +254746541000, and threatened us saying that they know our whereabouts, it is either you come to us or we come for you because we know where you live," King Kaka posted on Facebook.
The claims of the said summon elicited mixed reactions on social media with activist Boniface Mwangi calling on Kenyans to stand with the popular musician.
However, after availing himself to the DCI headquarters along Kiambu road, the state agency denied claims that they had summoned King Kaka whose real name is Kennedy Ombima.
The Wajinga Nyinyi song has elicited mixed reactions in the country since its release last Friday with Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru now threatening to sue the rapper for allegedly defaming her. However, top lawyers have vowed to stand with the musician in the corridors of justice.
