Speaking in Kibra constituency on Tuesday, the youthful lawmaker said that the wishes of the dead should be fulfilled, referring to those of former area MP the late Ken Okoth.

This was in response to the bile ODM nominee Imran Okoth is receiving having supported Ken's cremation.

Owino he said that it should not be the case, as Ken had indicated the same in his will, adding that for instance, the same must happen is he were to wish to be buried in the State House.

"The wishes of the dead must he respected. Leo nikisema eti nikikufa nizikwe State House lazima hiyo State House ndio nizikwe (today if I wish to be buried in the statehouse I must be buried there)," said the first-term MP.

He also called upon area voters not to punish Imran over Okoth's cremation, urging them to desist from engaging in such kind of politics.

He noted that what happened was not his decision, and he should not, therefore, be punished for it.

"I am appealing to you the people of Kibra, let's stop irrational politics. These politics that Imran cremated his brother is politics that is uncalled for. If Ken Okoth decided to be cremated upon his death, it wasn't the decision by Honourable Imran," added the Embakasi East MP.

Okoth died after a long battle with colorectal cancer and was cremated at the Kariokor crematorium in a private function.
