The ministry is currently under Labour CS Ukur Yatani on acting basis following the suspension of Henry Rotich over the Arror and Kimwarer dam projects scandal.

Makali said he has been expecting the Head of State to make a Cabinet reshuffle and named Ndii as the most suited person to take over the finance docket.

"I have been thinking may be Uhuru Kenyatta should appoint David Ndii to Cabinet Secretary for the Treasury in those Cabinet changes I was dreaming about. Moving the centre, right? What do you think? Meanwhile Dr Ndii is prohibited from expressing his opinion on this matter," the journalist tweeted

However, Ndii on Monday told off Kenyans piling pressure on him to expose corruption in government or help in formulating a policy to rejuvenate the collapsing economy saying he has given up on this country.

"Why would I risk my life exposing the corruption and standing up to this murderous duo for a country that I have given up on? What do you stand for?" he posed.

"I said we are over borrowing, you said no pain no gain. I said SGR is not value for money, you said I’m anti-development. I said we prioritize agric productivity, you said stadiums. Now you turn around and demand I give solutions. Sasa mnataka nifanye nini?(What do you want me to do?)" the public intellectual added.
