Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has said each constituency across the country should have at least one factory.
Mutua said this will help address the issue of high levels of unemployment, especially among the Kenyan youth.
He said his party, Maendeleo Chap Chap, will sponsor a bill in parliament seeking that the national government constructs at least one factory in each county across the nation so as to create job opportunities.
"Maendeleo Chap Chap party will soon sponsor a bill in parliament to ensure that national government builds a factory in each constituency in Kenya," Mutua posted on his official Facebook page on Thursday.
According to the Machakos Governor, this will boost urbanization in the country, boosting our earnings as citizens.
Mutua posted this shortly after he inspected the ongoing construction of Ikalaasa dam at Kibauni Ward in Machakos county.
He said the dam will ensure that the locals have enough water for their households and farms once it is completed.
Mutua later issued 2,000 land title deeds to the Kibauni residents.
He said the documents will enable the residents to access credit from different credit lending organizations.
"These tittle deeds will empower the people and allow them to access credit facilities for business and personal growth," Mutua said.
Mutua encouraged the residents to ensure that they consider planting crops that take short time to reach maturity for agribusiness, bearing in mind that October rains are near.
