An administration police officer was on Friday arraigned in court over allegations of shooting his colleague dead.
According to court papers, Constable Philip Wahome Muthondoi allegedly killed Constable Philemon Koech after being denied access to the house of the deceased.
The papers indicate that the suspect committed the crime on August 1, at Milimani Estate in Kakamega using his AK 47 riffle which had 30 rounds of ammunition.
It was found out that the accused, who was on his way to a supermarket, became angry after the deceased locked him out of his house and refused to let him in since his boots were muddy.
He then shot the deceased in the head, after which he replaced his spent bullet with one from the gun of the deceased which also had 30 rounds, and proceeded to blame it on suicide.
The suspected killer was on his way to his work station, the supermarket, where he had been stationed as a guard, according to court documents.
He then allegedly placed the gun near him to make it more convincing that he had committed suicide before he was arrested by officers from Kakamega Police Station.
He denied the charges and was released on Sh200,000 cash bail.
