Sons to the late Jonathan Moi have heaped praise on him as a loving man who always showered them with love from the day they stepped into the world.
Speaking on Friday, led by Clint Kiprono, his firstborn, the boys said that their father was always there for them and played with them during their childhood days.
He said that he will carry his (Jonathan) name with pride, adding that he was a generous man who was loved by not them as his family alone, but many other people.
"It is humbling to see how much he was loved. It was fantastic growing up as his child,” Clint who was born in 1986 told the Standard at their Kabimoi home on Friday.
“He would carry us and run around with us and me being the eldest, I think I had the pleasure of enjoying it all,” he recalled.
However, he said that Jonathan was also ready to discipline them whenever they went astray, recalling a 1996 scenario when he was given the lecture of his life for misbehaving.
On this day, he said, he was aged 10 and went ahead to fight his sister Barbara and walked away feeling like a victor, not knowing that the father had pictured it all.
What followed was a 30-minute lecture that made him realize his mistake.
“Dad took me aside and that is when I realised I had touched the wrong button," he added.
Jonathan who was the first born son to former President Daniel Moi passed on at a Nakuru hospital last Friday.
He will be laid to rest at his Kabimoi home in Eldama Ravine today (Saturday).
