Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has said that time has come for the Luo community to back Jubilee Candidate McDonald Mariga in the Kibra by-election.
Speaking on Thursday during a tour to Kibra to woo voters to stand with Mariga, Khalwale said that the Luhya community has supported ODM leader Raila Odinga for long, adding that it is high time he repaid the same back.
"Luos must this time support Mariga just like Luhyas have supported Raila for 25 years," he said.
He held that Imran Okoth hails from the Luo community but there is a need for change in the leadership for better service delivery.
"Imran hails from a respected community in Kenya of the Luo. Mariga comes from a respected community of the Luhya. We would like from the by-election on the 7th. The friendship we have built between Luhyas and Luo not to be spoilt. We want Luos to support Luhyas'," he said in part.

ANC has also fronted Eliud Owalo to contest for the seat.
