City lawyer Donald Kipkorir has fiercely defended ODM leader Raila Odinga from criticism for working with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Raila vied against Uhuru in the last two elections but they have been working together since their March 9, 2018 handshake.
Kipkorir told off his critics saying Raila is a politician in pursuit of ultimate power and he chose to get it by working with the government of the day.
The flamboyant lawyer said the ODM boss was not destined to be the leader of opposition forever and asked those who faulted his move to take over the leadership of the opposition.
"Those castigating Raila Odinga for abandoning opposition politics and entering into Handshake with Uhuru Kenyatta are political neophytes .. Politics is about attainment of ultimate power through a chosen pathway. Opposition is one way ..Others are free to be and lead the opposition," Kipkorir tweeted on Monday.
Among those who have been calling out Raila for his dalliance with Uhuru is his former strategist economist David Ndii, who on Monday confessed he was regretting backing the ODM boss in the 2017 polls.
"Good to know that I fought for Raila to become opposition flagbearer and put myself on the line of fire fighting for our stolen victory only so that he can negotiate Luos turn to eat. Should have listened to the people who said we go with Kalonzo-Musalia," Ndii said.
Uhuru and Raila have been in the forefront pushing for constitutional amendments through the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
