Harambee Stars forward Anthony Akumu has joined Kaizer Chiefs, a top-flight football team in South Africa.

The move was announced by the team on its Twitter handle on Wednesday.

"Player Signings! We would like to welcome a new Glamour Boy - Akumu Agay to the Amakhosi Family, " the top-flight South African team tweet read.

Akumu's immediate former football team is Zesco United which he left a few weeks ago after failing to strike a deal with the Zambian team.

Kaizer Chiefs are currently on top of the South African league followed by Mamelodi Sundowns at number 2 and SuperSport United at number 3.

The team is one of the most successful football teams not just in South Africa but the entire African continent.

Akumu known for his lethal strikes and creative style of play will be hoping to leave a mark in the history of this storied team.

Unlike the Kenyan league, the South African league enjoys tremendous following and sponsorship deals from the corporate sector.

The facilities where the games are staged are state of the art and some of them were used in the historic 2010 world cup that was staged in South Africa for the first time.
