Two people died on Saturday morning after the vehicle they were travelling in was involved in an accident along the Kisumu-Busia Avenue in Ugunja Town.
According to Siaya County Police Commander Francis Kooli, the two were in a saloon car that was rammed into by a bus headed towards the opposite direction near Camunya Hotel.
The police boss said that the two were among four people who were in the saloon car at the time before the bus which was headed towards Kisumu hit their vehicle.
He told the Citizen Digital that the saloon car landed into a ditch after the clash with his which had swerved off its lane.
The two survivors were rushed to the Home Ground Hospital, while the bodies of the deceased were moved to the Ambira Sub County Hospital Mortuary.
The police boss added that the bus driver, who has been identified as Joseph Andrew, fled the scene after the incident.
