This is after one of their members, Idd Mustafa allegedly brutally killed Emma Wanyota, a Vera Beauty college student.

The two are said to have been lovers and had separated.

Speaking to the press at the town, Tuesday, the members of the Muslim community said after the incident, non-Muslims have now branded them as killers and want to revenge.

“As Muslims, we want first of all to condemn the incident with strongest terms and we want to state categorically that the killing was done by one individual and not all Muslims so we should not be branded as killers,” said Saidi Sabuni, Chairman of Moi's Bridge Mosque.

According to Sabuni, they cannot walk freely since they have been threatened that they will be killed following the brutal murder of Emma.

He, however, said Muslims are law-abiding citizens and don’t tolerate killers.

“We are now living a worried lot since we don’t know what will happen next. Everyone is seeing us as killers, we spend most of our times in mosques due to fear,” added Atick Mohamed.

Uasin Gishu chairman of the Muslim Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya (CIPK) Abukar Bini on his part called on stringent laws to be put in place to ensure individuals facing murder charges are not released on bail until their cases are finalized.

The mutilated body of Emma was found dumped in a bush a few weeks ago with one leg and hand chopped off.

Idd Mustafa who is said to have been the girl's lover has already been arrested and arraigned in court.
