Mathare MP Antony Oluoch has become the latest leader to express susoicin regarding the latest move by allies of Deputy President William Ruto to join the constitutional changes push.
Led by Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen, the group on Tuesday announced that it will be part of the ongoing Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) initiative forums.
But Oluoch has raised his concerns about the sudden change of heart, given that the very same group has been questioning the entire BBI process and terming the forums waste of funds.
Speaking on Wednesday, he stated that as BBI supporters from the start, they are very alert, just incase the Tangatanga side is playing games in a bid to frustrate the push for changes.
"They are welcome but let them know that our eyes are open. Even Ruto can come, but let him know that we are alert (Tunawakaribisha lakini wajue hatufungi macho, hata Ruto akitaka kuja aje lakini ajue tumetahadhari)," he said.
He spoke on Radio Jambo on Wednesday night.
He also dismissed any chances of the group having been forced to join the BBI forums, saying that the BBI process has been democratic since conception.
He added that if the other camp has decided to join, then it has done out out of will.
"Hakuna mtu yeyote amelazimishwa kufuata BBI," added the MP, a staunch supporter of ODM leader Raila Odinga, who is a cofounder of the BBI alongside President Uhuru Kenyatta.
