Nyamira County Secretary Eric Aori has defended Governor John Nyagarama over alleged addition of a few names for workers into the county payroll.
Aori on Tuesday while addressing workers whose names are yet to be returned to the payroll in Nyamira said a section of workers whose names were removed from the county payroll will not be returned under his watch.
"I am the type of person who will not accept names of people removed from the payroll to returned through the back door. If workers were sent home due to illegal hiring there is no way their names can be returned into the payroll leaving others," he said.
The County Secretary assured that he will engage heads of all departments at the devolved unit to ascertain the claims that few individuals' names have found their way back into the county payroll.
He said the governor has nothing to do with the alleged illegal recruitment and pledged to take up the matter personally.
"Please allow me until Friday, August 2, 2019, to get information from all departments before I can issue a detailed report. Those who were hired illegally will have no option rather than going home," stated Aori.
