In a post on Twitter on Tuesday, Mr Ogolla explained how the former journalist, who could face up to 25 years in prison for lying to an Australian court, can be saved from being consigned to a life in prison.

According to the lawyer, Attorney General Paul Kihara could press for the extradition of Arunga to Kenya.

While in Kenya, President Uhuru Kenyatta could give her a presidential pardon.

"ESTHER ARUNGA needs support. If convicted, AG Kihara should negotiate an agreement between Kenya and Australia, & request her transfer to Nairobi under the Transfer of Prisoners Act, 2015. Once home, the President can release her under parole. LSK should help her set up practice," Steve Ogolla explained in the tweet.

Esther Arunga awaits a court verdict for lying under oath about the circumstances surrounding the death of her child.

She told an Australian court that the child fell to his death but a police investigation found that the child had been murdered by her husband Quincy Timberlake after being hit against a wall.

The chilling revelations caused a lot of chatter on social media platforms.
