Trade and Industrialization Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya is under pressure to prove the legality of his recent meeting with Mt Kenya state officials.
This follows revelations that he has been leading meetings at La Mada Hotel, which have been linked to an alleged plot to eliminate Deputy President William Ruto.
Former Makadara MP Bernard Mutura now wants the former Meru county chief to produce the list of people who attended the latest meeting.
This comes days after Munya, while denying claims that the meeting was used to plan to harm the DP, said that over 30 persons were present, and therefore not a secret meeting.
"Let him provide us with a list of the persons who were there (Munya atupe list ya wale watu waliokuwa pale)," he said on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show on Saturday.
He doubted claims that the meeting was used to address matters revolving around development in Mt Kenya, arguing that if that was so, there must have been recorded minutes.
He also wondered why the group opted to use the basement in a hotel with good conference facilities, also questioning their decision to allegedly switch off their phones.
The former parliamentarian wondered why the group would meet to address Mt Kenya issues yet they are expected to serve the entire nation, warning that the narrative might have negative repercussions.
"Munya and group should not include Mt Kenya community into their silly issues. You want to cause conflicts between us and other communities. If you are planning your secret plans do not include us as a community (Munya wasiingize jamii ya Mt Kenya katika mambo yao ya kipuuzi. Mnataka kutupiganisha na jamii zingine, kama mnapanga mambo yenu ya siri msituingize kama jamii)," he added.
Other CSs who attended the meeting are Joe Mucheru (ICT), Sicily Kariuki (Health) and James Macharia (Transport), among other top state officers.
