Evans Ochieng was arraigned before Keroka Senior Resident Magistrate Simon Arome and charged with selling chang'aa and bhang in Nyaribari Masaba on September 10, 2019.

The court was told that the accused was nabbed with 20 liters of the illicit brew and eight rolls of bhang which he was reportedly selling to the public.

However, he denied the allegations, terming himself a victim of framing, and argued that he is being falsely accused by a group of youths that also robbed him.

"I would like to inform this court that I did not commit the two offences that I am being accused of. I was framed by a group of youths who also took away Sh8,200 that I had in my pocket and appeal to the court to help me recover it,” he told the court.

He was released on a Sh100,000 bond with an alternative of a Sh50,000 cash bash, with the judge setting the hearing of the case for November 19.

Kisii County Police Commander Martin Kibet said that the officer is facing a possible interdiction.
