Exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna has reacted after the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) fired its employee for using racial insults on a Kenyan at Nairobi’s Lavington Mall.
Miguna, while reacting to the sacking of the ICRC employee said Kenyans need to convince the world that they are complete human beings for such racism to stop.
"Racists will abuse and treat you like pigs as long as you believe and behave like sub-human beings who deserve torture, abuse, exploitation and tyranny. Rise up! Convince the world that you are full human beings! Stop coddling tyranny!" he wrote on Twitter.
On Monday, ICRC fired the expatriate for racially insulting a Kenyan guard.
The unnamed man was seen harassing security personnel at Lavington Mall in Nairobi before one lady intervened and questioned why he was abusing the man.
He then turned to the lady and also abused her, describing her as 'monkey', which prompted Kenyans led by Secretary of Innovation, Digital and Diaspora Communication in the Office of the President Dennis Itumbi to demand for action against him.
ICRC’s communications officer Anne Kilimo on Tuesday confirmed the man was fired on Monday.
“A decision to have his assignment terminated was made last evening (Monday) after investigations were concluded,” said Kilimo.
