The head of state issued the land ownership titles on Tuesday to the Nyakinyua group in Nakuru County.

The outspoken ODM legislator congratulated the head of state on the move.

"Title deeds ... Good Job Mr. President," tweeted Ole Kina.

He went on to urge the president to work towards ensuring that every Kenyan is in a position to own a home, holding the view that it would be the only way to reduce the gap between the rich and the poor.

" ... let’s ensure that very Kenyan can own a home! This will help narrow the gap between the rich and the poor, " the Narok legislator's tweet read.

When he issued the title deeds, the president said it was a way of celebrating the role that had been played by freedom fighters in bringing liberation to the country.

"He said the issuance of the title deeds to Nyakinyua was a celebration of the country's freedom fighters and directed the Ministry of Lands to waive all charges on the documents issued to the group, " State House wrote on its Twitter handle on Tuesday.
