Speaking to scores of Ongata-Rongai residents who cheered him on, the Head of State offered free dating advice to young men seeking to marry and settle down.

President Kenyatta urged young men to employ respectful seduction tactics to make their intentions known to the women that they want to start a relationship with.

In doing so, he said young men should always be open to the prospect of their overtures being rejected.

"I urge every time, you young men, if you want you don't go and start disrespecting women. You go and seduce slowly, if you succeed that's good, if you don't try elsewhere. (Mimi ile nahimiza kila saa, nyinyi vijana kama mnataka sio kuenda na kukosea mwanamke heshima. Wewe enda utongoze mwanamke pole pole. Ukibahatika sawa, ukikosa tafuta mwingine), "the president said.

The Head of State's message will be music to the ears of women across the country who have been calling for men to respect them.

Cases of women being killed and raped after rejecting the advances of men are well-documented in the media.

President Kenyatta said women have equal rights as men and should be accorded the dignity they deserve as human beings.
