Nairobi County Executive Committee (CeC) member for Environment, Energy, Water, and Sanitation Veska Kangogo has pleaded with Kenyans to remember Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko in prayers.
According to Kangogo, Sonko is not in a good position and consequently, needs prayers in order to overcome the problems he is facing.
A Nairobi court recently barred Sonko from accessing office over a graft case he is facing.
In addition, Sonko is facing abuse of office, and other charges related to assaulting an officer and resisting arrest in Voi.
“Let’s pray for Sonko because he is not in a good position and he is also facing a judicial process. We hope that he will overcome the trial he is facing,” Kangogo said as quoted by Standard.
Kangogo supported claims by Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi that there is no vacuum at the county government, adding that all services are running smoothly.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that some Nairobi MCAs are planning to impeach the governor, following the court ruling.
