Senator Okong'o Omogeni has confirmed that the family of the late billionaire entrepreneur Stephen Mogeni will ensure the deceased is given a decent send-off.
The senator appealed to well-wishers and residents of Nyamira county to stand with the family of the billionaire entrepreneur during this trying moments.
"I wish to inform members of the public that burial plans for my late uncle Stephen Mogeni are ongoing well. On behalf of the family I wish to reiterate that we shall ensure the deceased is given a good send-off," Mogeni said.
The vocal senator said the death of billionaire entrepreneur is not only a blow to the family but also to the entire Gusii community.
He termed his late uncle as successful entrepreneur who was committed to eradicate poverty from the Gusii region.
"The late had a vision to eradicate poverty since he set up a tea factory where several people were employed to work and earn a living. Death snatched us a meaningful person but we as a family leave everything to God," he added.
The senator said once the burial committee settles on the burial date, he will inform the public about the arrangements
Mogeni died of an old age related disease in a Kisumu hospital on Sunday morning. He was the proprietor of Mogeni Tea Factory in North Mugirango.
