Deputy President William Ruto has assured Kenyans that the government is keen on ensuring that children in the country are in a position to access education in spite of their background.
Writing on Twitter on Friday, the country's second in command said that the Uhuru-led administration, will continue availing funds in the form of bursaries to ensure that children are able to pursue their dreams.
In his tweet, he sought to establish a link between the development agenda of the country and educating its children.
He had attended an empowerment programme at Esibakala Primary School.
"The Government has devoted adequate resources in form of bursaries and loans for the education of our children so that we can continue churning out innovators, thinkers and progressives with fresh sights and transformative attitude to propel Kenya’s development agenda, ' the deputy president said in his Friday tweet.
His intervention comes as students resume their studies across the country.
Part of Jubilee's agenda, as stated in its manifesto, is to ensure that education becomes accessible to all even though there are those who say that the cost of education in the country is still high.
Recently the Kenyan media has been awash with cases of bright students appealing for help so that they can continue with their education.
