Former Mukurwe-ini MP Kabando wa Kabando has accused Deputy President William Ruto of spearheading hatred politics in Mt Kenya amid ongoing 2022 succession politics.
Kabando said Dr Ruto had recruited a section of Mt Kenya politicians to spread 'Raila Phobia' messages, a move that could hinder national healing and reconciliation.
"You recruit greedy naive stooges to spread RailaPhobia in MtKenya to entrench politics of threats, fear, paranoia, exclusion, hate. Sycophants ravenously extracting your filthy coins. You fight handshake, BBI, UhuRao, war on graft and still claim you’re loyal to boss? Saboteur!" he tweeted.
His remarks came few hours after DP William Ruto had visited Mukurwe-ini on Saturday where he insisted that his relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta is still intact.
“The riddles of succession will not start. It is development that will continue. Those pushing President for endorsements should know that Jubilee Party has its plan and history. We know where we come from and where we are heading,” stated Dr Ruto at a funds drive at St Bonaventure Kaheti Boys High School in Mukurweini on Saturday.
“My friendship with President Kenyatta started long ago before he became President. I supported his ambition since 2002. Nobody should lecture me on how to support the President,” stated Dr Ruto.
On Sunday, President Uhuru Kenyatta lashed out at a section of politicians allied to DP William Ruto, accusing them of derailing his agenda through persistent politicking.
Dr Ruto is keen to reclaim Mt Kenya region ahead of 2022. His initial plans were destabilised following the handshake between President Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.
