"We want to thank the leadership of the @JubileePartyK for allowing the party to field a candidate in the by-election of Kibra Constituency," tweeted Khalwale.

This comes after the party declared that they will field a candidate in the November 7 Kibra parliamentary by-election.

On Monday, Jubilee Party Secretary-General, Raphael Tuju announced that this move was arrived at after discussions with various party leaders.

“Our analysis and consultations confirm that our Jubilee Party is competitive enough in the forthcoming political contest," said Tuju in a statement.

Therefore, aspirants were called on to apply for party tickets. The party noted that no one will be favoured in the nominations.

“We are, therefore, giving notice to our members who are interested in contesting the seat on a Jubilee party ticket to forward their applications to the National Elections Board. Details may be obtained from the party’s directorate of elections,” added Tuju.
