The Mumias East MP says that that the two are both delivery-minded, hinting at ongoing attempts to bring them together, ahead of the fast-approaching 2022 general elections.

In an interview with The Star on Saturday, he suggested that the two are a matching duo, terming them both "are humble and believe in delivering."

The close Ruto ally also said that the two can have an easy time working together, given that they share a number of qualities, including their stand on development.

"Both Ruto and Kalonzo are born again and development conscious, which makes them to easily work together," he said.

The remarks come only a day after Ruto welcomed the former Vice President into the ruling Jubilee Party, where he (Ruto) is the Deputy Party Leader.

Both leaders have been running mates of other leaders in the last two elections, with Ruto running behind President Uhuru Kenyatta and Kalonzo behind ODM leader Raila Odinga.

They have also both declared interest in the presidency come 2022, with each expressing confidence that it is their time.
