Tanzanian's Taifa Stars's skipper Mbwana Samatta made his debut for his English side Aston Villa on Tuesday night.
Samatta made history by becoming first Tanzanian to join an English Premier League (EPL) club when he sealed a deal that will see him stay at Aston Villa for four and half years.
On Tuesday, he had the opportunity to prove to the world and especially to his East Africa fans why he was signed by the club when Aston Villa faced Leicester City in the second leg of the Carabao Cup.
Samatta was named in the first starting line up, and it was a great joy for his home fans.
The striker who hails from the same village with singer Diamond Platnumz, Mbagala in Tanzania, was the main reason why villagers had a big screen mounted at Mbagala Kama Villa Park.
A huge crowd had shown up at the park to watch their star striker during this memorable moment.
Even though Samatta squandered two great chances that would have flowered his debut with a goal, the striker was great with and without the ball. His runs and dribble were handsomely nice, a clear indication Aston Villa made great investments.
Samatta was taken off and his position replaced by Keinan Davis. In some parts of Tanzania, fans left their showrooms immediately after Samatta was replaced.
Aston Villa saw off Leicester City with 2 goals to one and will be facing either Manchester United or Manchester City in the finals.
Manchester United and Manchester City are faced each other last night.
