Rarieda Member of Parliament Otiende Amollo has exuded confidence that Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) will retain the Kibra Parliamentary Seat in the forthcoming by election.
In an interview with NTV on Tuesday, Otiende said that the Jubilee party and other political outfits that have announced their interest in the contest are wasting their time.
He noted that ODM stands a better chance of retaining the post after they agreed to conduct nominations of their candidates ahead of the exercise.
He also poked holes in the entry of Footballer MacDonald Mariga into the contest.
Amollo said that the contest will not be a matter of football as they think, adding that Mariga will lose terribly to their candidate when that time comes.
He also said that the opposition has put in place measures to ensure that it retains the seat after the demise of Ken Okoth following a long battle with cancer.
“We have done the democratic thing. We are going to have nominations other parties haven’t and will teach them especially our friends in Jubilee that elections are not about football,” he said in part.
ODM leader Raila Odinga said that no endorsements will be made in the contest for the seat.
