The late Mark Too who was a close ally to the retired President Daniel Moi once revealed how he made prominent farmer and businessman Jackson Kibor kneel down before the former head of state.
According to revelations that were published in a local daily, Too revealed how Mzee Moi was unhappy with Kibor and the only way they could solve their differences was to talk to him.
However, the former nominated Member of Parliament was not sure Kibor would agree but he later managed to convince and get to Kibor.
“I pleaded with him that it was only fair, in keeping with our culture and tradition among Kalenjin elders, for him to honour the invitation even if to just go and speak his mind. He finally accepted and I took him to Mzee," revealed Mark Too.
They both went to State House where they could have a talk with Mzee Moi to which they were given separate rooms where they could talk with him.
“But I had a trick waiting for him up my sleeve. Kibor had always seen me as a fool but I knew I would beat him in his own game. At State House, I asked that we are given separate rooms to wait for Mzee, away from the prying eyes in the main reception area and waiting room. I also asked that Mzee should come to meet us here rather than us going into his office," noted Too.
Mark Too who was known for his tricks then directed one of the aides to signal him when Moi finally come to where they were waiting.
"When the signal came, with Mzee striding before us, I went down on my knees while asking Kibor to do the same. Maybe he thought there was a coup or something serious happening and he went down. As this happened, Mzee walked in to find us in kneeling position. He smiled. I had made Kibor kneel before him," he narrated.
