Moiben Member of Parliament Silas Tiren has finally cleared the air following anticipations that he might be mulling to decamp to the independence party, KANU ahead of the 2022 general elections.

The anticipations were sparked by Tiren's close association with KANU chairman who is also rumoured to be eying the top seat, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.

But speaking in Eldoret town on Monday, the MP who has once been branded a rebel in Jubilee party dismissed those circulating claims that he was planning to move to KANU.

He said he is in Jubilee party to stay.

“I want to state categorically that I have not ditched Jubilee Party, those are just propaganda meant to tarnish my good reputation and Kenyans should not buy it,” said the second term legislator.

Tiren noted that by criticizing the Jubilee government and associating with KANU officials does not mean that he has changed his mind.

“I know the story emerged after I was seen with chairman KANU and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi when they had 'Senate Mashinani sittings in Uasin Gishu. That does not mean I have crossed over,” added Tiren.

The MP wondered why he was being branded a KANU mole yet he was working with Senator Moi for the betterment of farmers.

“I will seek for reelection 2022 using the Jubilee party ticket,” he insisted.

Tiren has been vocal of issues affecting farmers and on many occasions, he has been hitting out at the Jubilee government.

However, it is his close association with Senator Moi that has sparked rumours and anticipations that he might be hatching a plan to ditch Jubilee party, a vehicle he has used to ascend to power in his two terms as an MP.
